あらすじ 第4話 「Myrthe’s journey」
サクナの働きにより峠の近くでは鬼を見かけることが少なくなっていた。
これならサクナ以外の者でも近くの森や沢に行くことができ、食料調達等手分けもできる。
ただ、稲作の方はどうしても人手が足りない。
そこでアシグモに相談し、沢の近くにすんでいるという河童達に協力を仰ごうとする。
しかし、ミルテを見た河童は…

Animeonly, but the impression I got was that it’s mostly regular nations with a name change and some of their folklore and religion are more or less real. I actually liked Myrthe’s explanation about Sakuna and Kamihitsuki being in the realm of angels and archangels

ゲーム内では、ミルテがサクナとタマ爺に存在の危機を与えるからめっちゃ面白いんだよ。「お前らは神だって言うけど、それってどういう意味なの？この世界を作ったわけじゃないし、強いけど全能じゃないでしょ？」って言われて、サクナが「え、でも…その…じゃ、じゃあ私は何なの！？」ってなるんだよなｗ
I actually liked Myrthe’s explanation about Sakuna and Kamihitsuki being in the realm of angels and archangels It’s really funny in game because she actually gives Sakuna and Tama an existential crisis, like “You say you’re a God, but what does that even mean? You didn’t make this world. You’re powerful but not all powerful.”
And Sakuna is all “Uhh, but… Um… Th-Then what am I!?”

Japanese mythical beings are like that. Same kind of creature can range from friendly to evil. Same for onis who can range from enslaving and eating humans to desiring to be friends with humans. It might have to do with them not being a dualistic culture like the judaic branch

monsters are all either former gods that got changed due to cultural drift (nurarihyon, zashikiwarashi), enemies of the yamato court that got demonized (oni, jorogumo), or bullshit morality tales (kappa were invented to stop kids from shitting in the water)

この件についてどう感じるべきか分からないな。ゲームではミルテが自分自身や使命を疑ったことなんてなかったと思う。司祭が死んだ（もしくは殺された）後や奴隷として売られた後でも、彼女は本当に決意が固くて強かった。
どこに行ってもウンコを投げられるっていうネタがあったんだよね。アニメでは基本的に「日本…悪い！」って感じになってるけど。
Not really sure how to feel about this, in the game I don’t remember Myrthe ever doubting herself or her mission, she was really resolved and strong, even after the Priest died (or was killed) and she was sold into slavery.
They make a joke about no matter where in the world she goes, they always throw poop at her. Where the anime is basically “Japan… BAD!”

このアニメとゲームが実際にはどれだけセックスアピールが少ないかって興味深いよね。サクナのスパッツが好きな人はいるけど、巨乳キャラや露出度の高い衣装のキャラが全然いない。もしかしたら、その健全さが政府がこのアニメを支援している理由の一つかもしれないね。
It’s interesting how little sex appeal this show and game actually has. I know people like Sakuna’s spats but there isn’t a single character with giant boobs or revealing outfits going around. Maybe that wholesomeness is one reason why the government is funding this show.
