シェイクスピアの戯曲『夏の夜の夢』の登場人物、ヨーロッパの伝承では妖精たちのリーダーとして伝わる。
「妖精王」の二つ名で伝わっている。

発表当初、日本ではデザインが賛否両論であんまり受け入れられてなかったのが面白いな。3部が出てから、羽海野チカのオベロンの真の価値が分かってきたんだよね。まじで…奈須もLB6をリライトしなきゃいけなかったくらいだしな！
funny to see this since in his early days in jp it’s design was poorly received on both sides of the sea
it was after 3rd part release that people learned about it’s true value and the true work of Umino Chika’s Oberon
damn… even Nasu had to rewrite LB6 thanks to that

日本版でオベロンのリリースを見てから2年、やっと俺たちのカルデアに来てくれたな。この待ち時間は本当に価値があったよ。彼のキャラクターもLostbelt No.6も、期待以上だった。きのこと羽海野チカがキャラに注ぎ込んだものがしっかり表れてるし。声優の豊永利行も相まって、FGOの中でも最高のキャラの一人だよ❤
2 years since I watched Oberon release on JP and now we can finally have him in our Chaldea. The wait was well worth it because both his character and lostbelt 6 far exceeded my expectations. Nasu and Umino Chica out so much in the character and it shows. Couple that with Toyonaga Toshiyuki’s voice acting and you get one of the best characters in FGO. ❤

あんまり関係ないかもしれないけど…
このキャラは完璧な助っ人だな。死に値する妖精を最後の一体まで、自分たちがやらなくても確実に排除してくれる。その後、彼の正体のおかげで、罪悪感なしに彼を倒せるんだ。ウィンウィンだな、異聞帯も消えて、主人公にトラウマも増えないし。
Probably doesnt matter but..
This guy is our perfect helper. He makes sure every one of those death deserving fae is wiped out to the last without forcing us to do it ourselves. After that we even get to kill him guilt free because of who he is. Its a win win, lostworld gone and zero trauma added to our growing mc.

友達を失うのは辛いけど、残念ながら主人公には新しいことじゃないな。問題は、主人公が最後まで「いい人」ぶって妖精を殺さなきゃいけなかったらだ。あいつらは根っから悪だったから、消えるべき存在だったけど、オベロンがその仕事から俺たちを救ってくれたんだ。
losing friends is hard but nothing new to the mc sadly. The problem would happen if the mc would be forced to slaughter the fae “playing good” to the last. Being as evil to the core as they were they needed to go but Oberon saved us from that job.
