あらすじ 第2話 「男なんか大っ嫌い」
乱馬はあかねと同じ風林館高校に通うことに。
ふたりが学校に着くと校門前にはあかねに交際を求める男子生徒たちが待ち構えており、そこには剣道部主将・九能帯刀の姿があった。
あかねに想いを寄せる九能だったが、女の姿になったらんまに一目惚れしてしまい…！？

彼女の新しいデザインはよりリアルだね。前は妙にスリムな下半身だった。声優がオリジナルよりかなり成熟して聞こえるのがちょっと悲しい。あかねとかすみは基本的に同じ感じだね。
Her new design is more realistic. She used to have this oddly slender bottom. It’s kinda sad her VA sounds alot more mature than she did in the original. Alane and Kasumi are still basically the same.

いや、実際かなり良いリメイクだと思う。旧版と比べてみたんだけど（ディズニープラスやフールーで見れるよ）、ストーリーはしっかりしてるし、テンポも早い。リメイクの最初の2話で旧版の3話分に相当する。作風もかなり改善されてるけど、漫画のデザインはちゃんと踏襲してる。九能のオリジナルの声優がいないのは残念だけど、杉田も悪くないよ。
No, it’s actually a pretty good remake. I’ve been comparing it to the original (you can watch on disney+/hulu) and the story is spot on but more fast paced. First 2 eps remake = 3 eps of the original. The art is much improved but still follows the manga design. It was sad not hearing Kuno’s original VA, but Sugi is fine.

I can defend the translators all I want, but the inconsistencies are piling up. Switching the surname up is unreasonable. Or people in the USofA don’t call others by their surnames?

Nah they definitely do, or at least it wouldn’t be weird to do it for someone you’re not friends/close with, which is the case here. It’s not clear to me why they’d be calling him by first name in the subtitles at all except just to be contrarian or weird, since even the dub just called him by surname like in Japanese.

杉田が九能役か、なんか違和感あるな。悪いキャスティングじゃないんだけど、もっと真面目な声の方が面白かった気がする。
Something about Sugita as Kuno feels off. It’s not bad casting or anything but I dunno, I feel like it’d be funnier with a more serious voice.

ここ数日で旧版の1～4話を再視聴したけど、九能が一番のキャラだな、あのバカさ加減が最高。
それに、なびきが女らんまを売るのも大好きだわ。
I rewatched episode 1-4 of the original series over the last days and Kuno is the best character with his stupidity.
I also love how Nabiki w●●●●s out female Ranma.

動きも良いしな。水泳のシーンは短くてキレがあって、感情がストレートだから、ほぼ中割りの部分も合ってる。スライドするシーンも、完全に平行じゃないのがいい感じ。
それに、見た目も結構良かった。漫画のトーンが、あの新聞のような色合い（薄い緑がかった黄色）に自然に馴染んでる。多分白黒でもいけたと思うけど、実際の色が赤いバラや紫・藍色の線画と相性がいいね。
帝（※三千院帝）のキスの後にどんな衝撃的なショットが使われるのか気になる。漫画でもガラスが割れるような演出があったけど、ただ使い回すだけなのか、それとも新しい何かをやってくれるのか。
It also had fun movement. The swimming is short and snappy, and then the instances of what is nearly tweening work for how blunt the emotions are. I like that the sliding one isn’t quite at a flat angle, either.
I thought looked pretty good as well. The manga screentone shading feels pretty natural on that newsprint-y, faded greenish yellow color. It could have been black and white and the look still would have worked, but the color they actually went with goes nicely with the red roses and violet/indigo linework.
I’m curious what kind of shocked shot they’ll use after the Mikado kiss later, considering the manga also had a glass-shattering look. Will it just be reused as a gag or will they do something new?

全体的に、2話の方が1話より好きだった。ちょっとクリエイティブな演出があって、シリーズに合った新しいギャグも1つあったし。

Overall I liked episode two more than the first. It was a bit more creatively directed and had at least one new gag in it that felt pretty in line with the series.

旧版は7シーズンで約2シーズン分のストーリーを取り入れてたから、新しいショーは比較的早く進むだろうけど、最初から始めてるんだよね。
シャンプーはこの最初のクールで登場して、その後も登場キャラになるはず。右京を早めに追加するかもしれないけど、もしそうじゃなければ、確実に3クールには出てくるだろうね。
