あらすじ 第9話 「鬼、統べる者」
ある日、峠に傷ついた兎鬼が紛れ込んでいた。
鬼の身体の刀傷を見るに、仲間割れの末に追い出されてきたようだ。
兎鬼の処遇を巡りサクナ達の意見も割れるが、手当をして開放することに。
タマ爺は峠に鬼が現れた原因を邪気が強まっているからではないかと推測し、サクナ、ココロワ、アシグモはその邪気を辿って、かつて戦場になった砦に向かうのだった…

でも「4年経ってもまだ下手だけど、ココロワが簡単にできる」って言われて、人間も同じくらい頑張ってるのに、サクナが怠け者って呼ばれるのはどうかと思う。
なんか、サクナの輝きを他のキャラクターが奪ってる感じがするんだよね。
本当にさ、彼女がいなかったら何ができないの？ゲームでは彼女が育てたから稲が素晴らしかった。でもここでは、彼女はただいるだけ。戦の女神としての彼女の役割の方がずっと重要になってる。
Eeeh, I’m iffy on having the humans and Kokorowa do so much to make the planting work. It really makes it hard to see what specifically Sakuna’s role as a Harvest Goddess is adding.
Like, in the game planting rice straight or well IS hard, that’s the point. But she (and you) get better at it.
Instead saying “Oh even after 4 years she still sucks, but Kokorowa can make it easy”, and then having the humans do as much as her, while she’s called lazy… It’s like Sakuna’s star is being diminished to make the others shine brighter.
Like, legit. What is she adding that they couldn’t do? In the game the rice was great because she grew it. Here, she’s just kind’a there. Her being a War Goddess is far more important.

許しに関する変更も同じ感じだよね。
ゲームでは、サクナは石丸と兎鬼を殺したがってたけど、彼らが懇願したから（特に田右衛門が石丸を殺さないと約束してくれと懇願したから）踏みとどまった。でもその時も彼女はそれが愚かなことだと思っていたし、間違いだと考えていた。そして、彼女が正しかったと証明された。
でも、今は…田右衛門が「殺人者を殺したらお前も殺人者だぞ！！！」っていう最もバカげた哲学を口にして、サクナが完全にその世界観を受け入れてる。
だから、人間の慈悲が愚かだというより、サクナがただのバカに見えるんだよね。

In the game Sakuna wanted to kill Ishimaru and the Demon Rabbit, she stepped down because they pleaded with her (and Tauemon specifically begged her to promise not to kill Ishimaru) but both times she clearly thought it was stupid, and a mistake. And both times she was proven right.
And instead now… Tauemon spouts the most retarded “IF YOU KILL A KILLER, YOU ARE ALSO A KILLER!!!!!” philosophy, and Sakuna is completely convinced to take up his worldview.
So instead of the humans mercy being foolish, Sakuna is just a retard.

I haaated this part of the game. The only redeeming factor is that both times the dumb humans try show mercy and forgive their enemies it blows up in their face and makes everything millions of times worse .
I don’t think it’s actually intentional (given that Tama won’t let you kill the rabbit later), but it really feels like the message is that unconditional forgiveness is retarded.

You could read Scott McCloud’s books on understanding comics. It’s the same as when you see realistic fish drawn in anime or manga. If it gets too real, your brain reduces it to an object. If it gets stylized, or in this case a dumb seiyuu saying “wan wan”, it becomes a person.

Good spot for a cliffhanger. Though it looks like they might be rushing the endgame as I sort of expected. But they’ve shown they aren’t afraid of changing things up so maybe it wont FEEL rushed.

I mean, that’s only like 2/3rds of the way into the game, so it seems about right. There’s still the whole fixing the fields, rebuilding everything and regaining your stats one by one, then the festival and final act.

このアニメを見て面白いと思ったのは、ここで描かれている神々（もし日本の神々に似ているなら）が、専門分野でも全能ではないということ。西洋の宗教しか知らなかったから、最初に見始めたときは、サクナが鍬を振り回すだけで土地がすぐに耕されて、米が正しい場所に浮かぶと思ってた。でも、サクナとココロワは実際に目標に向かって努力して、本物の労働をしないと「神のような」行いを成し遂げられないんだね。
One interesting thing this anime made me think about is how the gods portrayed here (if they are similar to Japanese gods) aren’t exactly all powerful even in the area they specialize in. Only knowing Western religions all my life when I started watching I figured Sakuna could just wave her hoe around and the land would immediately till itself and the rice float into the right spots, but both Sakuna and Kokorowa have to actually work toward their goals and perform real, honest labor to achieve their “Godly” deeds
