Rigurd/Rigur/Gobta and many others are unironically racial purists (regarding themselves) and don’t want to abandon their race.
Remember back when Gobta dueled Gabiru, Rigurd was shouting at him to “show them what a Hobgoblin can do”.
Gobwa and the Kurenai are all big fans of Benimaru so they fully embraced the idea of evolving into Ogres. Yes, they are Ogres. Benimaru and the others are Oni which is even higher than Kijin which is also higher than Ogres, so they are already 2 evolutionary steps above the new Ogres.
