　　あらすじ　　＃07　　「前に進むしか…」
風紀委員会との戦闘を終え、便利屋68とも別れを告げた後、ようやくアビドスには日常が戻ってきた。

そんな中、爆破の怪我を負った柴関ラーメンの店主を訪れた対策委員会の少女たちに、衝撃の事実が伝えらえる。

一方、普段と違った様子で思い耽るホシノ。

このエピソードでは、ほんの少しですが、本当のホシノを垣間見せてくれます。彼女のいつもの人格の90%が偽物であること、しかし、その偽物である理由も、良い面も悪い面も少しだけ示してくれます。屋上での会話では、先生もまた、自身の人格をかなり偽っていることが描かれ、ホシノと先生は、偽のふりをしている二人として描かれています。彼らは自分たちが偽物であることを知っていますが、それでも互いの仮面の隙間を通じてコミュニケーションを取ろうとし、少しずつ相手のことを探り合っています。
エピソードの最後で、ホシノが再び寝たふりをしているのが明らかになりますが、彼女は会話を聞いており、真剣に受け止めていないように見せかけ、寝たふりをしています。他の全員がカイザーコーポレーションについて真剣になる中、ホシノは眠そうなおじさんの演技で全員を遮ります。彼女が後輩たちのためにその大げさでおどけた演技をする理由がまさに理解できます。しかし同時に、少なくとも先生が彼女の信頼を勝ち取るまで、彼女が本当の自分を出せる相手がいないこともわかります。彼女はグループで最も責任感が強いですが、状況の深刻さに圧倒されないことの重要性を理解しています。望みのない状況にいるからといって、全てのネガティブな側面に巻き込まれ、不幸になることの先を彼女は身を持って知っています。彼女は先輩として、自分の先輩がかつて自分のためにそうしたように、他の人の笑顔を守る役割を果たそうと、他の人を笑顔にしようと努めています。

Episode gives you a look at the real Hoshino just a bit, and how 90% of her usual personality is fake. But it also shows you why its fake, both the good and bad of it just a little bit. And they really draw some nice parallels with sensei faking his personality as well a lot during the rooftop conversation. Sensei and Hoshino comes off like two people acting fake, they know they’re fake, but they’re still trying to communicate through the cracks in their facade, trying to sus each other out a bit.
The scene at the end where its clear Hoshino is faking sleep again, she’s listening in to the conversation but she has to make it look like she’s not taking it seriously and is pretending to sleep, everyone else gets very serious about the Kaiser corporation, but Hoshino interrupts them all with her sleepy ojii-san act, you understand exactly why she puts on that over the top goofy act for her kouhais. Yet at the same time how she doesn’t have anyone she can act like the real her with anyone, at least until sensei wins over her trust. She’s the most responsible one in the group, but she understands the importance of not being overwelmed by the seriousness of their situation. She understands first hand what it leads to when you get wrapped up in all the negative aspects and become miserable just because you’re in a hopeless situation. She tries to make the others smile because her role as a senpai is to protect their smiles, just like her senpai once did the same for her.

Well yea, he young too, probably not to far off from his students. Of course young rookies make mistakes. He wouldn’t be too much fun if he were 10 years older because then he would have gone to every school and started a group to solve a lot of these problems form the start. He probably would have taken a more legal route as well when it comes to loans and what not. Then again that’s no fun. People want to see cute girls shooting cool guns, not a man who knows who to talk to and plays good legal ball.
