あらすじ 第19話 「山姥/夢魔」
食事中に何者かの奇襲を受けるライオスたち。
その正体はシュローのパーティーに同行していた従者の少女であった。
マルシルを人質にとり、自分にかけられた術を解けと要求する。
マルシルがどんな魔術がかけられているのか問うと、少女は自らの頭巾を解き、姿を明らかにする。

読んでる時は大体「おお、キャラのバックストーリーのカッコいい描写があるな」と思ってたんだけど、声優のパフォーマンスもあって初めて読んでる時に見落としてた感情的な側面がグッと伝わってきて、エピソード全体が引き立ったんだよね。
When I was reading I mostly though
oh cool, character backstory and some neat imagery
But with the voice acting performance it really drove home the emotional aspect that I missed while reading and elevated the chapter as a whole

枕カバーに入った一杯のアサリがドラゴンってどういうことなんだろう。それに最初からそれを捨てずに、なぜ夢の中に入ったんだろう？覚えてないけどこの話で説明あったか。
I still don’t get how this dragon is a bunch of clams in a pillow case. Why did he go in the dream instead of just dump them out from the get go? I don’t remember shit about these chapters, obviously.

精神的な寄生虫、例えば脳のダニのように見ていました。人からダニを単に引き剥がすことは、さらなる問題を引き起こす可能性があるので、自ら離れるように仕向けるのが最善です。だからこそ、ライオスが中に入って悪夢を自ら離れさせるようにしたわけで、それらをただ外に出してハンマーで叩き潰すわけにはいかなかったんです。
I always viewed as a psychological parasite, like a brain tick. Just ripping the tick off of a person can lead to further issues, so getting it to let go on its own is best. Hence, Liaos going in and getting the nightmare to let go, rather than dumping them out and smashing with a hammer.

山姥はかなり原作に忠実だったから、それについては「まあまあ」って言う他ないけど、夢魔に関しては、マンガのエピソードよりもっと好きになっちゃったほど、めちゃくちゃ良かった。アニメーションの演出、背景のディテール、声優の演技がすごくて、完全に水を開けた感じ。判定：9.5/10、流石トリガーだわ。
Yamanba was pretty by-the-book, so nothing much to say there other than it was okay. Nightmare, on the other hand, was so damn good that I liked it even more than the manga chapter. The animation direction, background details and voice acting blew it out of the water. Verdict: 9.5/10 based Trigger

エピソードは大好きだったけど、モノクロシーン全体については複雑な感情があるな。理解はできるんだけど、長い場面で背景アートがカッコいいけど見ていて疲れる感じがしたな。もっと歪んだ、抑えた色使いでやった方が良かったと思う。
I loved the episode but I have mixed feeligns about the whole black and white sequence. I get it, but it’s a long sequence and even with the cool background art felt tiresome to watch. I would have done it in a more distorced, muted colors.
